Funding for this program, including all costs for competitions, music, licensing, equipment, and staffing is approximately $40,000. Your donation is tax-deductible and can be made on a monthly basis.

CHHS Music Department Fundraising
Canyon Hills Music Boosters Club is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization (Tax id 33-0107622). That means that any money you donate will be used exclusively to support the needs of the band!
The lion’s share of funding for this program, including all costs for competitions, music, licensing, equipment, and staffing is approximately $40,000. If we just account for our largest ensemble (the marching band and color guard - which also costs the most money to maintain), those 70 students translate to approximately $572 per student or about $57 per student per month per academic year to cover all of our costs if no money is generated from fundraising or provided from grants. The orchestra, jazz band, choir, and musical theater troupe combine to more than double that number with another 70 students or so who are not active in the marching program. This means if every family in the department was able to donate just $350 ($35 a month) we would cover our costs. In most years we have robust fundraising efforts (including large tournaments and performances at the school) that help to offset the amount we need to raise in donations - but this year, we are limited in what we can accomplish on that front. This means your donations are more important than ever!

Gift Wrapping
The CHHS Music Department's annual Holiday Gift Wrap fundraiser is our largest earning fundraiser of the year! We wrap gifts for donations at The Murphy Canyon Walmart on Aero Drive. Oktoberfest
The band occasionally has a game booth at the Tierrasanta Oktoberfest using donated candy as prizes.
